Who runs this

  • Pleased and this website are run by Nullstate Studio.
  • Write to info@nullstate.studio with any question, or to ask about your data.

On your phone

  • The reading happens on your iPhone, as many times as you like.
  • Your photo is cropped and compressed on your phone, and it loses its location and other metadata.
  • Your cards, contacts and CVs are encrypted on your phone.
  • An app lock asks for your phone's unlock method when the app opens.

In the app

  • There is no account, and the app sends nothing to us.
  • An exchange goes straight from your phone to the other one, when you tap Exchange.
  • Purchases go through Apple, which handles payment and billing.

This website

  • Our hosting provider keeps a log of each page request. The log holds the visitor's IP address, the page asked for, the time and the browser's user-agent string.
  • We can read that log from our account. The host keeps it for up to 90 days.
  • We use it to keep the site running and to deal with abuse. We don't use it for analytics, advertising or profiles.
  • The site sets no cookies, and it loads no scripts, fonts or images from other companies.

Where this stops

  • A QR code isn't locked. The offline QR holds your contact details as plain text, for whoever scans it.
  • Once a card is exchanged, it's the other person's. They keep what you sent, and we can't delete it for them.

    Opening your card never asks a person to hand over their details.

    The app never tells you who opened your card. We keep no list of who opened it.

    It isn't listed or searchable. People get it because you gave it to them.

  • Trackers on this site

    No analytics, no ad pixels and no cookie banner, because there's nothing to agree to.
